Besides its role of pastoral care to the local Catholics, we work to involve Aboriginal Catholics in the wider community, national and international events. The work of the Aboriginal Catholic Ministry includes masses, liturgies, sacraments, as well as talks on Aboriginal culture, spirituality, social justice and reconciliation.

APOSTLESHIP OF THE SEA AUSTRALIA
The purpose of the Apostleship of the Sea is to care for the Spiritual, Social, and Material welfare of all Seafarers without distinction of colour, race or creed
The Apostleship of the Sea is the Catholic Church’s Missionary work to the Seafarers whether they be on merchant, passenger, war or fishing vessels. Caritas Australia (CA) is the Catholic agency for international humanitarian relief and development in Australia. Through effective relationships with the Church, partners and communities, Caritas Australia helps to end poverty, promote justice and uphold dignity throughout the world. BECOME A CATECHIST
Join the Uni Catechist Team in teaching young children about the Catholic faith.
The Catholic Chaplaincy at the University of Sydney helps to organise Catechism at 3 local Public Schools. Lessons are only 30 minutes long and it’s an awesome way to share the faith. Training is provided and lesson plans are prepared. All you need to do is say YES!!

THE CAPUCHINS FRIARS VAN MINISTRY
The Friars’ Van heads out from the friary at Leichhardt to near St Mary’s Cathedral to give hot drinks and sweets to those experiencing different forms of poverty, hardship and homelessness. There are usually two friars and around five young volunteers. To find out more, click HERE
Each Australian L’Arche community is made up of a number of households and/or independent flats. The people with disability and a support team made up of Assistants live and work alongside each other.
Our aim is to create communities where people with and without an intellectual disability live relationships of mutuality and trust.
