Catholicism 101 “Mercy Series” Session 6

July 12, 2016 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm

Here we are with our last of our “Mercy Series” sessions. For our final  Catholicism 101 before we head off to WYD Krakow, we’re excited to welcome John Pridmore (From Gangland to Promised Land) who has an incredible conversion story to share about being imprisoned physically and mentally through his involvement with the gangs in East London as well as Fr Peter Carroll who is currently serving as the Prison Chaplain at Long Bay Goal in Sydney. Our speakers will discuss the corporal and spiritual work of Mercy – Visiting the Imprisoned and admonishing Sinners and forgiving offences willingly.

In 2015, Pope Francis called a Jubilee Year of Mercy, which calls all people to seek and show Mercy. In response, Catholic Youth Services will host the “Mercy Series” at our monthly formation talks – Catholicism 101. The “Mercy Series” would aim to breakdown the spiritual and corporal works of Mercy and provide a basic theoretical understanding of them and then to show by the example of others in our community how we can practically live these works out in our lives.

The same deal as last year, food from 7:30pm (straight after City Silence) and the talk begins at 8pm. During this Extraordinary Year of Mercy make sure you know exactly what it all means!
