The Cor Project – An Afternoon with Christopher West
October 22, 2016 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm$22.50 – $27.50
Catholic Youth Services and the Catholic University Chaplaincies are excited to be presenting renowned Speaker and Teacher Christopher West in Sydney this October!
The modern world has sought – with rapid success – to redefine human sexuality. The result has been not only a new sexual ethic, but a new definition of our humanity and a new social order.
Founded by Christopher West and inspired by John Paul II’s Theology of the Body, The Cor Project aims to reframe questions of human existence in such a way that the divine plan for man and woman can be perceived and embraced in all its beauty and splendour. This is a project of the heart (“cor” is Latin for heart), attracting men and women who are yearning for more than what our culture’s approach to happiness and fulfilment has to offer. Through a creative blending of live music (from Americana artist Mike Mangione), film clips, and Christopher’s dynamic presentation, the Cor Seminar–Live! will take participants on an exhilarating journey into the “cor” of God’s plan for human life, love, marriage, and sexuality – and, through that, into the Mystery at the “cor” of, well, everything…
Join Christopher West and Mike Mangione for this very special afternoon on Saturday October 22 at the Seymour Centre in Sydney.
Tickets are only $27.50 each, or $22.50 for a group of four or more. Book now as tickets will sell out! http://www.seymourcentre.com/events/event/god-sex-meaning-of-life/
** Who is Christopher West **
Christopher West is a proud husband and father of five. His global lecturing, best selling books and multiple audio and video programs have also made him the world’s most recognised teacher of John Paul II’s “Theology of the Body” – a bold, biblical vision of love and sexuality that takes us to the “cor” of what it means to be human. As Founder and President of The Cor Project, he leads an international outreach devoted to spreading this liberating teaching and empowering others to live and share it. His work has been featured in The New York Times, on ABC News, Fox News, MSNBC, and countless Catholic and Evangelical media outlets.
Beyond his work as a populariser of the Theology of the Body, Christopher has been teaching graduate and undergraduate courses on the subject since the late 1990s, having served on the faculties of St. John Vianney Theological Seminary in Denver, the Institute for Priestly Formation in Omaha, and as a visiting professor of the John Paul II Institute in Melbourne, Australia. In 2004 he co-founded the Theology of the Body Institute near Philadelphia, PA and his week-long courses there continue to draw students from around the world.
