CorE – Preparing for the Challenges of Youth ministry in 2016
February 29, 2016 @ 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm
So we’ve just experienced what was likely a great summer break, but now it’s time to get back into the swing of things. The youth are just getting back to school and are probably very hard to motivate right now. How can we prepare ourselves for the coming year of ministry and all the challenges it will bring? At our first corE night of the year, Fr Greg Morgan FMVD will help us do just that as he will share with us how we can prepare both our hearts and minds for the year of ministry ahead. With a night that will be part reflection, part formation, part preparation, part discussion and part practical, we’ll be focusing on all the things we can do to prepare for – as well as face – any obstacles that youth ministry may throw at us.
This corE night will be held on Monday 29 February starting with an awesome charcoal chicken dinner at 6:00pm and finishing by 8:30pm at 108 The Crescent, Homebush West. The invitation is open to all YMC’s and youth leaders from the Sydney Archdiocese.
CorE nights are aimed at youth leaders and parish youth ministry coordinators (as well as up-and-coming youth leaders) who have a passion for spreading Christ amongst other young people. The word “cor” in Latin means “heart” and the “E” stands for evangelisation. As youth leaders you are at the heart of evangelisation!
This night gives young leaders the opportunity to be further formed in their ministry to the youth by someone who has experience in this field. There will be opportunity to chat over dinner, pray together, participate in group discussions, listen to a talk and testimony, enjoy fellowship and receive relevant resources.
