Culture Project Missionary
Culture Project is a movement of young people cultivating hope in our generation through the experience of authentic love.
Youth Mission Team Sydney has been impacting the young people of the Sydney Archdiocese for more than 33 consecutive years, having commenced in 1986 and ministered to more than 100,000 students along the way. In addition to this amazing history, in 2018 YMT entered a brand new collaboration with Archbishop Fisher and the Archdiocese.
Our teams comprise of young men and women who have deferred career or tertiary study for 12 months to work in a fulltime voluntary capacity. Coming from a wide range of backgrounds, our team members commit to a dedicated common lifestyle of prayer and the sacraments as the basis of their year of mission.
YMT’s service to young people is two-dimensional. The first is best captured in its service to high schools, facilitating Reflection Days and Seminars in Catholic and Government high schools across the region. The second dimension is a character and faith development pathway offered by YMT, expressed through the provision of mini retreats for parish based youth groups, school holiday camps and mentoring.
“I applaud the wonderful contribution that YMT has made to the Australian Church for more than 30 years and look forward to strengthening our collaboration to serve our young people with the greatest gift there is, an encounter with the love of God.” Archbishop Anthony Fisher OP
NET Ministries Australia
Our missionaries are people who have experienced a personal encounter with Jesus Christ. This encounter fills them a desire to share their story with their peers, so that they too can hear about what is possible if you are open to transformation. Our Missionaries tell us that through their experience they have benefited greatly from investing in a year on NET.
More Mission opportunities to come! Stay tuned.
